This Premier League Matchweek 9 report covers all 10 completed fixtures played on 31 October–2 November 2026, with 100 paired bookmaker-match observations. The analysis was published on 3 November 2026 at 04:11 UTC. Arsenal's rolling comparisons use its latest 10 paired matches, including a fixture from the previous season.
Arsenal led the Predictable Teams ranking at both Opening and Closing. Yet every covered operator's Closing forecast was less accurate than its own Opening forecast across that Arsenal sample. The aggregate team scores were 0.1040 at Opening and 0.1103 at Closing. Arsenal remained the league's lowest-error team in this window, even as the final forecasts lost ground.
Tipico leads the field—and still loses the Closing comparison
Tipico recorded the lowest Closing mean among Arsenal's covered operators at 0.1069. Its own Opening mean was lower still, at 0.1011, leaving a Closing Improvement Index (CII) of -0.0058. All operators had the same full 10 paired Arsenal fixtures, so the contrast is not explained by Tipico having a smaller sample.
The Team Accuracy Index (TAI) profiles also separated the operators. Tipico's latest Closing reading was -0.0034, against NordicBet's 0.0038 on the same window. That favourable relative position for Tipico did not erase the deterioration against its own Opening forecasts.
The warning was already there before this round
The archived publication of 26 October 2026 already showed negative Arsenal CII for every covered operator. By 3 November 2026, Paddy Power's reading had deteriorated from -0.0059 to -0.0081. Both readings use full 10 paired-match windows, refreshed as new fixtures replace older ones. Arsenal remained first in the Closing team ranking in both publications; the leading position concealed a weaker Closing correction.
Arsenal wins at Anfield; Tipico’s forecast loses accuracy
Arsenal's win at Liverpool supplied a concrete Matchweek 9 example. Tipico's OA Score increased from 0.1640 at Opening to 0.1743 at Closing. The team result rewarded Arsenal, but Tipico's final probability forecast described that result less accurately than its initial forecast. This fixture is part of the rolling sample above, rather than a separate confirmation.
The round-wide figures also favoured Opening: mean OA Score across the full paired matchweek sample was 0.2005, compared with 0.2091 at Closing.
Continue with Arsenal on the current Premier League dashboard linked below: compare Tipico and NordicBet in TAI, then inspect their CII results. The dashboard shows current data. The question to follow is whether the operator with the strongest relative profile also improves on its own Opening accuracy.
